Chapter the Second
Remus was ecstatic about his bowtie pattern find, as well, curious that it was Halloween when he initially stumbled upon the art group. There was a Halloween festival hosted by the art group that included carved-lite pumpkins by high school students that lined the stairs of the library, scary movie shorts produced by the high school students at Americal building, and the art exhibit. Remus mused while looking at the pattern. Coming out of the revelry, he found it to be simple and was making bow ties with little to no effort. With his renewed enthusiasm over knowing he had a winning sale item, Remus had made a various number of bowties over the weeks leading up to the fair. He became assured he was going to crush it at the Winter Art sale.
The Arts Collaborative of Wakefield (ACW) Winter Art sale commenced every first weekend of December beginning on Friday evening and again Saturday morning into early afternoon. Remus had always been part of the Friday evening sales. His real job had always prevented him from participating in the Saturday sales event.
Ever since he had joined the ACW, the Winter Art Sale had seen many of productions of crafts and art installations from the hands of Remus. Everything changed since he had been putting fiber pieces into the Topsfield Fair as part of their craft show exhibition and winning ribbons with his entries. He realized fiber art was his true calling and decided to stick with those types of art pieces and crafts. Now that he was working every other Saturday at his day job, this year he was going to work both days of the Winter Art Sale.
Remus couldn’t believe his success. He had never done that well at a holiday sale. His well crafted bowties made a hit. And the $7.00 sales basket was a huge success too. Folks kept saying, “7$ is this price right?”
“Yes, yes. It’s correct, I’m trying to clear out my storages”, Remus would chime in afterwards.
