Write about a random act of kindness you’ve done for someone.
My apartment complex was strictly a cat community when I first moved in. I wasn’t allowed any pets because I lived in a studio. Now it has recently accepted dogs. So someone has been leaving their dog filled bag at the front door. I’m completely disgusted by this. Like, what the heck!!! Are you joking!! I complained to management.
The other day I was talking to my neighbor who was the first to move in with a service dog. Cute little thing, Rosey. We were talking about folks who had recently moved and I mentioned about the poop bags being left at the foot of the front door. She said it was her doing it, because she hadn’t gotten used to her new schedule of work. I scolded her a bit. But later I realized that she was really honest in telling me it was her, and trying to get her new schedule under control. I sent her a card letting her know I appreciated her honesty and letting her know I’m sorry for sounding a bit judgmental.
I think in today’s current culture…even the little things are huge for folks. And if we go deeper in our compassion side, we too will feel an act of kindness.
