Can I get a little Hankie!?!

What’s the oldest things you’re wearing today?

I’m okay

My mother in law sent me a box of aprons. She knew that I loved the ones that wrap around you with arm holes and a button at the back of the neck. They are wonderful. Unlike the traditional apron, these are designed to distribute the weight of items in the pockets so that it doesn’t pull on your neck. They were all secondhand, but I didn’t care.

Also in the box were some hand towels and loads of hankies. I wasn’t interested in any of the other items so I stuck the box in my storage unit.

Last year, I was cleaning my unit and I came across the box. Unfortunately, it was beginning to get damaged. I pulled everything and washed it all, I didn’t realize how old some of the hankies were. Some didn’t fare well. But I realized with the ones that could be used for the traditional purpose. I decided to go ‘green’ and start carrying one in my jean’s pocket every day. Not sure how old this one is, but I suspect it’s from the 50s, 60s.
