Are you a leader or a follower?

Colin Powell said, ‘ the moment people stop coming to you with their problems, is the moment you stop leading them.’
I am a teacher / artist by nature. So technically that puts me in the leader category. I have always marched to the beat of my own drum. However, this type of thinking can tend to leave one lonely and defeated.
Now that I’m a bit more seasoned, I tend to evaluate the circumstance. Will it be a benefit to follow or to lead? I started a program at my church called the Card Ministry Table. I lay down cards for folks to jot down a message to the receiver. Some will come to the and ask why is this person receiving a card. Many times, I will hear I don’t know this person.
The premise of the Card Ministry is not for you to know the person or not, it’s to encourage someone who needs to hear a voice other than their own crying out God. It lets the recipient know that they are being prayed for. That can mean the world to someone who needs a little inspiration.
You first after me. Or that’s all you!
