Giving of Oneself, Expecting nothing

Describe a random encounter with a stranger that stuck out positively to you.

I was walking to making a delivery during the time directly following Covid. An elderly couple were leaving a restaurant and the husband had already gotten the car and pulled it to the curb for his wife to get in. She was carrying her leftovers in one hand and a cane in the other. She was completely overwhelmed. She needed to step off the curb, steady herself to get into the car, and not drop her meal. I immediately grabbed her meal with one hand and grabbed her elbow with the other to help steady her off the curb to get in the car. She was so grateful as she sat down into the car seat. As she reached for her meal, I said, no buckle your belt first! She smiled and I gave her the box and helped shut the door. Her husband was like thank you and bless you. I was just glad they didn’t freak out about me being too close to them, during the post pandemic time. But I couldn’t just walk by!
